So you've decided to get into the auction craze? Can you actually save some money by ordering from these sites? The answer is yes and no. Bidding on items at auctions can be very money saving if you are careful and know what you are bidding on. Many times people actually pay more or the same as they would have at a retail store just because they get caught up in the bidding war. They don't want to lose so they keep bidding. Then they have to pay shipping on the item making it more expensive than if they just went to the store and purchased the item.

On the other hand the internet is a great place to save some money. Many times items are cheaper to purchase at different locations in the world therefore merchants can resell them to customers across the world for a much better deal and everybody wins. Also supply and demand can change the value of certain items. For example a snow shovel might be cheaper in Chicago than in Nevada because they are probably not going to need a snow shovel in Nevada. But if by some strange chance a blizzard hits Nevada then people might need snow shovels. Local merchants will probably charge a fortune for them and you could probably buy them much cheaper from an online auction merchant in Chicago.

Most major online merchants have very secure orde forms in place to protect the privacy of it's consumers.
